Virtual Private Cloud

Logically isolated virtual network for your cloud resources

Delta Cloud VPC allows defining and launching resources in a logically isolated virtual network with private IP addresses and clear separation from the public internet.

  • Private IPv4 CIDR blocks
  • Multiple subnets in one VPC
  • No direct internet
  • Ready for VPN and Gateway
Description

What Is Delta Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)?

Delta Cloud VPC is a logically isolated virtual network within Delta Cloud. In this network, you deploy virtual machines and services that use private IP addresses and communicate internally, without being directly accessible from the internet.

Within the VPC, the client:

  • selects a private CIDR range (e.g., 10.0.0.0/16);
  • creates one or more subnets within this range;
  • starts virtual machines and services in the selected subnets.

VPC, by design, has no direct internet egress. External connectivity is achieved through separate services:

  • VPN for connecting to office networks and other environments.
  • Gateway (upcoming service): A virtual router for controlled internet egress for selected subnets or resources.
Technical Parameters

Key Characteristics of Delta Cloud VPC

Address space

  • Private IPv4 CIDR blocks (e.g., 10.0.0.0/16, 172.16.0.0/16).
  • Range selection based on client's network scheme.
  • Compatibility with on-prem networks.

Subnets

  • Support for multiple subnets within one VPC.
  • Separate subnets for different applications or environments.
  • Clearer organization of resources by functionality.

Connectivity model

  • Internal communication between resources within the VPC.
  • No direct route to the internet.
  • Option to connect to external networks via VPN and Gateway.

No internet gateway

  • No default egress to the internet.
  • Reduced attack surface.
  • Suitable for sensitive systems and data.

Integration

  • Connection to office/data centers via VPN service.
  • Planned integration with a virtual Gateway for the internet.
  • Suitable for hybrid architectures.

Simple management model

  • Focus on selecting networks and subnets.
  • No need for complex network configurations.
  • Possibility of upgrading when needed.
Use Cases

Where Delta Cloud VPC Is Used

Internal business systems

ERP, CRM, internal portals, and analytical solutions deployed in an isolated network without direct internet access, accessible via secure channels (e.g., VPN).

Environment separation

Separate subnets for development, testing, and production, with clearly separated resources and easier management of changes and access.

Layered architectures

Separation of application layer and data layer into different subnets within one VPC, with clear separation of server roles.

Delta Cloud VPC is suitable for all cases where private cloud networks without direct internet access are needed. If you are planning new infrastructure or migration, we can propose a specific model for addressing and subnet division.

Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) – Frequently Asked Questions

What do I actually get with Delta Cloud VPC?

You get a logically isolated virtual network with private address space and one or more subnets, where you launch virtual machines and services, visible only internally or through controlled channels (e.g., VPN).

Does VPC have direct internet access?

No. Delta Cloud VPC has no internet gateway by default. Internet access will be implemented through a separate Gateway service when needed.

How is the CIDR range selected for VPC?

The range is set when creating the VPC and is usually private (10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x, etc.). It is recommended not to overlap with on-prem networks to facilitate future VPN connectivity.

Can I connect VPC to an office network or another data center?

Yes. This is implemented through Delta Cloud VPN service. This way, resources in the VPC are accessible via IPsec tunnels to your routers or other devices, without being publicly exposed.

Do I need a large network team to use VPC?

No. It is mainly necessary to select appropriate private network ranges and subnets. Delta Cloud can assist with sample schemes and recommendations, so you can start with a simple but scalable configuration.
